Reminder: Pearl S. Buck Writing Center Spring Conference

I’ll be speaking at the Pearl S. Buck Writing Center’s Spring Conference this Saturday.

It’s a beautiful spot, all year round. My talk is on The Details: Naming Characters,Choosing and Researching Settings, Developing Themes.

Aspiring or seasoned writers are invited to attend the Pearl S. Buck International Spring Writers’ Conference featuring guest speakers Terri Brisbin, Sandra Cody, and Anita Nolan. The 2013 Writers’ Conference is focused on writing fiction and attendees will learn about naming characters, researching places and themes, outlining their book, dividing chapters, and writing synopses and epilogues.

Terri Brisbin is a presenter at local, regional, and national conferences. She has sold more than 1.7 million copies of her historical and paranormal romance novels, novellas and short stories in more than 20 languages in 25 countries around the world since 1998.

Sandra Cody is the author of the Jennie Connors mystery series and Put Out the Light, Consider the Lilly and By Whose Hand, which are currently available in book stores and libraries.

Anita Nolan was the executive editor of Sprouts, the magazine of the New Jersey Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, has written annotations for Best Books for Children and articles for magazines. She currently spends her days writing about Commercial Real Estate and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities and her evenings writing Middle Grade and Young Adult stories.
