Harry Potter Birthday Bash

The Pearl Buck House is having a Harry Potter Birthday Bash in July.

If you have a child who is interested in writing, this might be a good writing event that they can attend. Or, if s/he’s interested in Harry Potter, this might get him or her interested in writing.

Writing Like J.K. Rowling – Discussion of Plotting – Discussion of the Series

It’s Tuesday and Harry Potter’s Birthday! Join a Harry Potter series discussion led by Jeffrey B. Allen, author of the popular book, Into the Land. Discuss writing like J.K. Rowling and plotting. Discuss the novels and what makes them so popular. How does one write that genre? Birthday cake and costume prizes–includes an author’s tour of the Pearl S. Buck National Historic Landmark House.

Presenter and novelist Jeffrey B. Allen brings a powerful and exciting new twist to Magical Realism. By skillfully shifting in and out of reality, Allen intertwines the triumphs and tradeies of the human condition with a land of the unknown. A professor of writing at Northampton Community College, a fellow of the National Writing Project at Penn State University, he sits on the board of the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group. Allen is a frequent lecturer on subjects as wide ranging as architectural design, writing and publishing.

  1. OOOOOooooooooooh, I wish I lived in closer proximity! In case you didn’t know, J.K.Rowling’s birthday is the same as Harry’s šŸ™‚ And her adult novel “The Casual Vacancy,” will be released on Sept. 27th. I’m so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
