Hyperion CEO: Book Publishing Model is Broken

Did you happen to see this article? Hyperion CEO: Book Publishing Model is Broken.

An interesting comment made:

The one pattern that I have seen is that while there is still big money being thrown around for certain books, there is an awareness that we can’t continue to overpay. Advances are already lowering.

  1. Thanks for posting that, Anita. I find it so sad that the digital age is taking over 😦 I have to say, hearing about advances lowering doesn’t surprise me. I think that’s been happening for a while anyway, hasn’t it? I’d love a big advance (well, I’d love to get published!), but it’s never been a good business plan for publishing. I just hate that digital seems to be taking over 😦
