Jonathan Yaged Joins Macmillan

From Publisher’s Lunch:

Macmillan has hired Jonathan Yaged to take over as president of their children’s publishing group from Dan Farley, reporting to company ceo John Sargent. Yaged had been publisher of the Disney Book Group before leaving there at the end of last year to join web-based marketer House Party as chief operating officer. Macmillan imprint publishers Simon Boughton, Jean Feiwel, and Roger Priddy will report to Yaged, along with director of marketing Joy Dallanegra-Sanger.

Yaged says in the announcement, “I am thrilled to be joining the Macmillan family and feel fortunate to become part of a company with such beloved authors and illustrators. I am looking forward to working with Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group’s talented and devoted staff to continue the best publishing traditions of our imprints as we lead the way into a new and exciting era of children’s publishing.”

Sargent remarks: “With his recent experience in the social media marketing business, his proven track record as a children’s publisher at Disney, and his extensive business development background, he is an ideal fit for our group at this time. In his role as president, Jon will be responsible for expanding our current footprint in children’s books and also for taking the Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group forward in the digital transition.”
